In 2017, CityPlat principal Vincenzo Verdino embraced the federal Opportunity Zones program, which incentivizes investment in underserved areas through significant tax benefits. CityPlat has since pursued multiple projects under this initiative, including The Distillery at Rand Mill in Garner and the Borden Brick redevelopment in Durham, both of which Verdino credits directly to the program’s incentives.
